This intricate floor was sanded with the Bona Power Drive in order to achieve a super flat surface. The floor is coated with Bona Woodline oil-based polyurethane.
I wish I took some before photos of these floors. They were previously covered with rug and MDF. The floors were sanded with the Bona Belt HD and Bona Power Drive to create a beautiful canvas for stain and finish. These floors are stained Bona Grey and finished with Bona Mega satin water-based polyurethane.
These Brazilian Cherry floors began life prefinished. Using Bona ceramic abrasives we were able to grind the factory finish off, along with the micro-beveled edge, to create an amazing site finished floor that was super flat.
These floors were once stained DARK. We sanded off all the old stain and polyurethane to expose the beauty of the natural wood.
Amazing finish. Tung oil is made from a nut! This Tung oil was mixed with a biodegradable citrus solvent to create an easy to apply, zero VOC floor finish. This tung oil has a matte sheen.
If you are looking for a truly green zero VOC solution for your hardwood floors, Loba Impact Oil might be for you. This was my first job using this product and I was amazed. No harsh solvent smell (it actually smells good), amazing grain depth and clarity, and it feels like silk to your skin. More and more people are moving away from oil modified polyurethanes towards lower VOC water based polyurethanes and even penetrating oils from companies such as Loba and Rubio. I am moving away from oil modified polyurethanes also. It is much more pleasant to work with water based products and zero VOC oils. This penetrating oil comes in transparent and 10 other colors. Loba also offers water-based reactive stains that can be combined with the penetrating oil to create custom colors. The info below is right from Loba's website:
These floors were originally factory finished with a beveled edge. We sanded the floors down past the beveled edge, used a multi-disc floor sander to remove all sanding imperfections and then water popped the floor in preparation for stain. Then we applied a custom stain that marries two extremely popular color trends into one.
